"Leading up to a digiset I was feeling sick of doing the same kind of set I had been doing for the last 2 years. Desiring a shift into a new era perhaps I decided to forgo my usual songs and write completely new ones. After working and thinking all day about what I could do I ran home and started crafting some beats with my elektron digitakt. By the end of the night I had 3 new songs ready to be recorded. Desiring a loose feel and a sort of play on the idea of performing live digitally, I wanted to record all of the songs in one singular take. This way it would feel authentic to my old sets of live techno/pop, but moving into a new sort of style bridging my old album and my upcoming music. It’s funny sometimes how quickly songs can pop out of me and how much I will love them, this EP is a testament to that for sure. The first song Double Scorpio is probably my favorite, I was taking a lot from the darkwave techno I love along with the acid trancey style of that super resonated bubbly bass. The ambient song in the middle was fully improvised and recorded from my arturia microfreak. Androgyne Fairies is me trying to make fun happy breaks, reminiscent of the style that OTTO has with his pitch bent synth leads. And the last song Triple Jump is me having a lot of fun with an Emotions sample looped with some big ass drums. I wasn’t really trying to do anything but have fun with this project and I think it really comes through, just quick fun tunes for dancing with friends."
