Hauntedpixel is a cybergrind inspired post-breakcore artist based out of Texas. Drawing influence from artists ranging from Machine Girl to Janelle Monae, Hauntedpixel uses sampling, synthesis, and breakbeats chopped up and pieced back together into d-beats and blast beats to create her signature, distinctly gritty sound. On her debut EP Nefaria, Hauntedpixel explores the theme of social alienation through the lens of a prison-like "utopia" for rats, drawing parallels between a cyberpunk version of the 60s-70s mouse and rat experiments and the social isolation of through a global pandemic.
